An Oblivion For Others

This is a submission to the 36-word Game Jam. It's inspired by a short-story I read a million years ago, whose name and author I do not recall.

I suppose it's a solo game with written prompts, but there's no reason to limit oneself to writing alone. Though that would be in the spirit of the game. Especially if it is dark, and the light of no star can be seen.
